On February 22nd, your child attended an assembly to kick-off the reading program known as PARP (Parents As Reading Partners).  PARP is a PTA sponsored program designed to create excitement and nurture students’ desire to read in partnership with their parents.  We want all students at Vanderbilt involved as they continue to enjoy their favorite books, periodicals and other reading materials.
The theme for this year’s PARP Program is “One Book, One School”.  Every child at Vanderbilt Elementary has received their very own copy of “Pee-Wee’s Tale”. The author, Johanna Hurwitz, has autographed each book and personalized it with your child’s name on it.  It is our hope that you will enjoy reading this book with your child!

In this packet, you will also find our PARP Calendar.  Please consult the calendar for important information and activities we have planned throughout the month.  Have fun and enjoy the time spent reading with your child!

Should you have any questions, or require further information, please feel free to contact one of the PARP Committee Members:
